Getting started

Branding and settings

Your logo, colors, currency, quote validity, discounts and the copy around the configurator.

Open Settings in the admin menu. It has five tabs. A dot on a tab means it has unsaved changes.

Branding

Your name, logo and colors on every customer page.

  • Display title: the page heading and the browser tab title, for example “Acme Garage Doors”.
  • Logo: PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP, up to 1 MB. SVG files aren’t accepted.
  • Colors:
    • Accent: buttons, the progress bar, and the border on a selected answer.
    • Accent tint: the background of a selected answer card. Use a very light version of your accent.
    • Text on accent: the text color on buttons. Usually white.

The preview beside the colors updates as you change them. Under it, the Readability check measures contrast for button text, selected cards and links. Normal text needs a ratio of 4.5:1 to meet the WCAG AA accessibility standard. A low score is a warning only, so you can still save, but customers may find the text hard to read.

Reset colors and title to defaults puts the branding back to ConfigBid’s blue.

Welcome step

The first thing customers see, above the quote info fields.

  • Headline, for example “Let’s build your quote”.
  • Subheading: a sentence about what happens next.
  • Estimated time (minutes): shows “About N min”. Leave it blank to hide it.

Quote info step

Before the first section, customers fill in a short contact step. There are four fixed fields. For each one, choose Ask for it and Required:

Field Notes
Project name Shows as the quote’s title in your Quotes list.
Project location Useful for site visits and delivery.
Customer name
Email If you stop asking for email, the customer can’t get a confirmation email or PDF, because there’s no address to send it to.

These are fixed fields. To ask anything else up front, add a question to your first section.

Quotes and pricing

  • Quotes are valid for (days): how long a quote stays valid after it’s submitted. 0 means quotes never expire. Changing this only affects quotes submitted afterwards.
  • Currency: a three-letter code such as USD, CAD, EUR or GBP. Prices are shown in this currency exactly as you entered them; nothing is converted. Quotes already submitted keep the currency they were sent in.
  • Number format: a locale tag like en-US, en-CA, fr-CA or de-DE. It controls whether prices show as 1,234.50 or 1.234,50.
  • Largest number a customer can enter: a cap that applies to every number question, even ones without their own maximum. Up to 10,000,000. Stops typos like 10000 openings from producing absurd quotes.
  • Show sequential quote numbers to customers: off by default, so customers see a short random code like Q-4F2A9B7C and can’t tell how many quotes you get. Turn it on to show #123 instead.
  • Deposit due at order (%): optional. Shows a “Deposit due at order” line under the total on the review screen, the confirmation page and the email, for example 50% of the total. Leave it blank for no deposit line.
  • Store-wide discount: a percentage off the parts subtotal on every quote, applied on top of any discounts from rules. Give it a Label shown on the quote (for example “Spring promo”) and a Percent off. It doesn’t apply to custom lines your team adds to a quote later.

After submit

What customers see on the confirmation page and on the shared quote link.

  • Next step 1 and Next step 2: two short lines under “What happens next”, for example “We’ll call within 1 business day.” Leave both blank to use the default wording. The quote’s valid-until date is always added automatically.
  • Contact phone and Contact email: shown so customers can reach you. Unlike prices, these always show your current details, even on old quotes. Update them here and every quote page shows the new ones.

Saving

All five tabs save together. Click Save settings in the bar at the top of the page; it stays visible while you scroll. Settings don’t need publishing: they apply to the next customer who loads the configurator.
