Build your configurator
Terms and conditions
What customers agree to when they submit a quote, and how each acceptance is recorded.
Go to Terms in the admin menu. Your terms are shown on the review screen, the last step before a customer submits. Terms don’t need publishing: saving them updates the configurator straight away.
Edit your terms
- Heading: shown above the terms, for example “Terms and Conditions” or “Quote terms”.
- Body (Markdown): the terms themselves. You can use simple formatting:
## Headingfor a heading**bold**and*italic*- itemfor a bulleted list[link text](https://example.com)for a link
The Live preview beside the editor shows how it will look to customers.
Display options
- Require acceptance on the review screen: customers have to tick a box agreeing to the terms before they can submit.
- Include the terms in the confirmation email: the terms are added to the bottom of the email customers get after submitting.
What gets recorded
When a customer submits, the quote saves a copy of the terms exactly as they were at that moment, plus the time they accepted. If you change your terms later, older quotes still show the version that customer agreed to.
Keep it short. Customers read terms on their phones at the moment they’re deciding to buy. Cover what a quote is (an estimate, valid for so many days), what a deposit secures, and how cancellation works. Link to your full legal terms on your website if you have them.
ConfigBid doesn’t write your terms for you, and nothing on this page is legal advice. If you’re unsure what yours should say, check with your lawyer or trade association.
